About Breeze Acupuncture
A Calm, Thoughtful Approach to Healing
Combining over 30 years of medical experience with a gentle, personalised and holistic approach to care.
Breeze Acupuncture was created to bring together clinical medical understanding and a more individual, calming approach to treatment — especially in women’s health, hormonal balance, menopause, fertility and musculoskeletal pain.
Mel’s Journey
A Medical Background
I spent over 30 years working as a physician in women’s health. I believed in evidence, diagnosis, structure, and the reassuring clarity that Western medicine can offer — and I still do.
But over time, I also came to recognise its limits. There were moments when symptoms could be managed, yet true balance still felt out of reach.
A Personal Turning Point
Then, unexpectedly, I found myself on the other side — as a patient.
I was dealing with musculoskeletal pain and menopausal symptoms, the kind that quietly wear you down over time. Like many people, I followed the usual medical routes first. Eventually, someone suggested acupuncture.
I was sceptical. It sounded vague, perhaps too gentle to make a real difference. But curiosity — and a certain amount of frustration — led me to try it.
And then something unexpected happened: it worked. Not in a dramatic way, but in a calm, steady, unmistakable one. The pain eased, my body felt more settled, and even my sleep improved.
The Philosophy Behind Breeze
That experience did not replace my belief in Western medicine — it expanded it. I came to see that healing does not always have to be forceful to be effective. Sometimes the most meaningful change happens quietly.
That realisation led me to study acupuncture and eventually create Breeze Acupuncture.
Today, my work brings together both worlds: clinical medical understanding and a more holistic, patient-centred approach.
I have a particular interest in women’s health, including fertility, hormonal balance, pregnancy, and menopause. My approach remains simple — to listen carefully, understand each person as an individual, and offer treatment that is thoughtful, gentle, and effective.
I do not see acupuncture as a replacement for Western medicine, but as a valuable complement — one that can be quietly powerful.
“I didn’t expect acupuncture to help this much. I feel calmer, more balanced, and finally more like myself again.”
